Contact profiles can be imported from an Excel file using two available methods. During each import, existing contacts are excluded by default to prevent duplicates. If an existing contact is intentionally selected, their information is updated rather than recreated, provided the first and last name match. When the import is complete, a confirmation banner reports the number of new contacts added and existing records updated.
Step 1: Obtaining the Excel File
Begin by selecting Option A if you would like to export the file from myCustomers on the InTouch website, or B to download an Excel template file.
Option Export from myCustomers
- Sign in to your account on the InTouch website for your country:
US InTouch Website
CA InTouch Website
UK InTouch Website
- In myCustomers, select the checkbox at the top to select all customers.
- Select the Export button and save the Customers_YYYYMMDD.xls or MyCustomerList_M_D_YYYY.xlsx file (the file format depends on your country).
Option Download a Template File
- Download and save to your Desktop, the Excel Contact Template file for your country/language (United States, Canada (Eng), Canada (Fr), United Kingdom).
- Add the applicable information to the template file, ensuring it remains in the Excel (.xls) format.
- Close the Excel file, then proceed to Step 2: Import File into Boulevard below.
Step 2: Import File into Boulevard
Note: For the file to import into Boulevard online, it must remain in the same native Excel file format (.xls or .xlsx) that InTouch exports it as or the template file from this article and should also be closed when importing.
- Sign in to your Boulevard online account. If necessary, from the sidebar navigation, select Contacts, then Contact List.
- From the contact list toolbar, select the import button
then from the Import Customers screen, choose the Select File button. - From the Open window, navigate to the location of the recently saved Excel file, select it, then click Open (If you were not given the option to choose where the file was saved, check your Downloads folder).
- Select the customers to add or update, then click OK.
Additional Information:
Note: If you have duplicate contacts, after deleting them from the Contact list, permanently delete them from Boulevard's Recycle Bin to avoid affecting your total contact count. See Delete or Restore Contacts from the Recycle Bin for more details.
- The Last Name, First Name, Next Contact (date), Preferred Contact, Phone: Home, Phone: Mobile, and Account Balance columns are visible by default. To add or hide which columns appear, see Customize the Contact List.
